Hand & machine Stitching, Pattern Making & Small-Batch Production

I enjoy the process of making things by hand and paying attention to details that often go unnoticed. Most of my work has been on bags, wallets, and small accessories, focusing on stitching, pattern accuracy, and clean finishing. I approach each project as a chance to practice, improve, and learn from others.

Skills

Leather Craft Techniques

  • Experience in hand stitching (saddle stitch, cross-stitch) and basic machine sewing.

  • Able to draft and adjust patterns by hand and in Adobe Illustrator.

  • Familiar with edge finishing methods such as burnishing, creasing, and edge painting.

  • Practiced in skiving, layering, and simple reinforcement techniques.

  • Experience with setting hardware like rivets, buckles, zippers, and snaps.

  • Hot stamping and foil stamping.

Materials Knowledge

  • Worked with calf leather, vegetable-tanned hides, suede, and exotic skins.

  • Understanding of material properties (thickness, temper, stretch) and how they affect construction.

  • Ability to select appropriate materials and finishes for durability and aesthetics.

Digital & Technical Skills

  • Comfortable using Adobe Illustrator for templates and layouts.

  • Some exposure to digital tools and current trends, including AI for exploring design ideas.

Workshop & Production Skills

  • Small-batch production management: maintaining consistency across multiple pieces.

  • Quality control: checking stitching, alignment, and finishing before delivery.

  • Safe and efficient use of workshop tools (knives, skivers, edge tools, presses).

  • Organising workflow to meet deadlines while keeping standards high.

  • Carried out stitching, edge finishing, and hardware setting with attention to detail.

  • Supported custom and small-batch orders with consistent workmanship.
